S.E. Davis & Son began when Sydney Ernest Davis and his wife Alice bought Sandhills Farm in 1930. Their son Bob caught the earthmoving bug at the age of nine, and the family has been shifting earth, building roads and hauling heavy plant ever since.
Today the company is run by the third and fourth generations of the same family — Bob's son Andy, alongside grandson Paul and granddaughters Lucy and Sally. That continuity is our biggest asset. When you ring us, you're talking to people whose name is over the gate.

40+ years of recycling, generations of know-how
Our recycling story started delivering crushed brick into the new town of Redditch in the 1960s. We still take in demolition material today, crushing and screening it back into reusable aggregates — some washed into our popular recycled sharp sand and pipe beddings.
